I hope you are feeling much better now.

Thats such a sweet name.Poor little thing.I hope she settles soon.Abby had a very sensitive tummy when she was little.I'd keep up with the same food as the breeder until she settles in.

I hope she is much better after her vet visit.I can't remember the worming schedule for pups, but your vet will advise you.

We'd love to see pics when you get a chance to take some.Alison

Bijou is a very cute name. How are your kids with her? They must be overjoyed. I'm glad you came back to the group and are feeling better after the flu!

Bella had worms when she was a puppy, and they were so gross! But they cleared up very quickly on the meds and she never got them again. I found that giving her a few bonus pieces of kibble before and right after any dose of medicine helps her tummy tolerate it.

Sooooo... On to the important things: Photos please!!

Pepe when he was young could not take Drontal for worms.  We had to use panacur in solution whch did not make him sick.
Good luck

I am soooo  glad to you came back to the site.  Glad my email hit the spot.  :cheer:  Bijou - I like that name it has a certain ring about it.

yes - some puppies do react to the Drontal.  I give mine a worming syrup from Shelleys.  Its in a pump and sooo easy to use.  I'm sure she will be just fine.  She's a healthy puppy otherwise so there should be no probs.

Once you've got over your cold could we have some pics pleeeeeeaaaazzzzeee.  Us Aunties just simply adore all  :fluff: but puppies well - they are to die for.  :kissing1: :cheer:

Oh, she is just precious!  I know a puppy is lots of work and frustration, but their cuteness more than makes up for it.  Let us know if we can help you with ideas and support.  We've been there and might have a few tips to get you over rough patches.  I hope both you and Bijou are feeling better.  BTW, did you get Bijou's name from the Dogs 101 segment on bichons?  Bijou was the little heart murmur puppy adopted in the segment.  If you haven't seen it, try to catch it on Animal Planet.  Welcome to the forum!!!!  Hey, we're Aunties again!!!

So glad that you are here with us and that Bijou is at your home.  Sorry that she had a little bump in the road, but sounds like she is on her way to being ok.  She is so precious and I love to see our fluffs sleeping on their backs  She is just precious and her name suits her perfectly.  I bet that your girls are in love with her.  Glad that you are feeling better too.

Oh she is sooooo tiny!!  I also want to kiss that belly.

MaryEllen -you have a great memory, I was trying to recall where I'd heard that name!  I love that show. I was so excited to find out that Mattie and others were featured too!

No, wait!  Bijou was the name of the bichon that the family had lost.  Binty was the puppy's name!
Not such a good memory...but I recovered it!

I am pretty late to all this.  Gosh what a drama.  I am surprised that she had worms, as most breeders worm regularly every two weeks until they leave and then you continue that until they are three months old.. but then could be different in your country.  I was surprised it was tape worms though mostly pups get round worms here.  I never use drontol all my dogs have reacted to it.  She is a cute wee pup I hope she is better now
