What a heartwarming and very special story, Bree. Thank you for sharing it - I love to read about how everyone found their  bichon. Sounds like you have wonderful, caring parents too. Lucky is indeed, a very lucky  fluff

Awesome, It's not too far from Brampton. My mum isn't sure if she wants to move %100, but she does like the idea of a bigger backyard. I'm secretly hoping we do move, I like the country living.

Thank you everyone for the kind posts.  I'm glad you enjoyed Lucky's story. He is one tough fluff

What a wonderful thread! I greatly enjoyed reading all of the rescue stories. I don't know who is luckier the bichons rescues or the rescuers! They  are equally lucky, I guess, to have found each other. Congratulations to all of you  who have taken a rescue dog.

I replied via email also, but wanted to let others know what I wrote incase they had other great ideas!

Go to Small Paws website  ( http://www.smallpawsrescue.org/) and fill out a form to become a foster. The are based in Tulsa Ok, but will fly at there own expense a foster to a foster home anywhere in the US. They are the largest bichon rescue in the US. They pay for all medical expenses (pre approved) and you pay for food, toys and give love and training... just becareful, we have several bichon.ca members that failed fostering 101 and ended up adopting their foster bichons.
