I would be greatful if you would keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Pepe is making his final journey tomorrow. Old age and kidney disease have finally caught up with him. I hope we can get through the day.

Pam, please accept my condolences -- it will be a big loss for you. Your pets will feel it too, so spend time with them; it will be good for you as well.

Thank you Sandie, Craig and Chris.  This is horrid - we have tried to spend a pleasant day tempting him with titbits and nice things but bless, he isn't really interested.  He is weary and entitled at his age.  But I will miss him so much.  Go to get through till 11 tomorrow when we go to the vets.  Not easy.

If he's refusing tidbits, he must be terribly uncomfortable. He knows it is time for him to go -- help him through this difficult  process. Please accept the best wishes of all of us.

So sorry to hear about Pepe.  Our furbabys are with us such a short amount of time.  .....Hardest part of being a pet parent....Even knowing you are making the right decision doesn't ease the grief......
Keeping you and Pepe in my thoughts and prayers.

Each of your posts brings instant tears to my eyes so I can only imagine how you feel. I'd probably just hold him all day and all night. Too awful and again, I'm so sorry.

Thank you so much everyone.  It means a lot.  Pepe passed very peacefully this morning on my knee at the vets.  He had difficulty getting comfortable last night and was very weary.  We were last in at the vets so it was very quiet and peaceful.  But there is now this huge hole in the house.  How can one small dog have such a big personality?  It is so quiet.  I haven't sat on the sofa on my own for over 16 years!

My emotions are all over the place.  Relief that he is now comfortable.  Sick that he is gone.  And guilt. It is hard to describe and will just take time.

Thanks again

Pam, I am sure you have *no* reason to feel guilt. Forgive yourself. My condolences on your loss. I know no words I can say can take away the hurt.

I'm sorry to hear about Pepe, agree with Criag there's no reason to feel guilt. You gave him a good life and He runs free with no pain now.

Take care and your family is in our thoughts.

Pam, I'm so saddened to read this..... sending my heartfelt condolences. Crying
I imagine having to make the difficult decision, and then feeling the deep sense of loss
(and the quietness in the house like you described) and the tears just flow. Crying
I wish I knew the right words to say, but I know words can't assuage your pain.
Know that Pepe angel is running free at Rainbow Bridge (playing with Titch angel).
Thinking of you ((((((hugs)))))

People have been so nice in thinking of us.  I am really touched by the kind and thoughtful things people have said.  Life goes on here - just not quite as it did.  I am not sure Poppy and Bengy have even noticed anything different - except Bengy does sneak onto my pillow at night for a while before popping down into his basket.  This was Pepe's place  sad  Ah me
Thanks again
