Her name is Bijou -- she's an 11 month old toy poodle -- whose bichon groomer cuts her like a bichon.   LOL! We love the look.

She is a darling little girl -- and a rescue pup at that -- from a puppy mill in Ohio.  Glad we got hold of her before she became breeding stock.

Milo loves his little sister   Love word  and says that even though she is a poodle, he will make room in that big bichon heart of his for her.

Hope this note finds all well and wishing everyone a happy Spring.

Milo and his bichondad

congratulations! What a wonderful addition to your family! I've always been told that it is often best for the new dog to be the opposing gender from the elder dog.

Hi there Bijou!  Sounds like you were one of the lucky ones.  And a brother ready to play right there in your new home, how much fun you will have together!

You all may remember that we were looking to adopt a second bichon when Bijou came available.

She has so energized Milo  hyper, who most days before she arrived was content to sleep  sleep1 (preferably on my lap) and take lazy walks.  Now they both run around the yard like puppies  Clap cheerleader, go for long walks together  , roughhouse  starwars and have bonded very quickly.  Milo is protective/jealous of her in public  aikido(sometimes) and has taken to barking at friendly dogs/neighbors who pay more attention to her than to him.  Its hysterical!  Laugh Hysterical Finally got them both on the same eating   snack and walking schedules -- she learned quickly from her older brother.   kissing1

Thanks Sandy for all your good advice along the way.    fluffthankyou Your comments helped us think through many different options for a second dog -- especially the choice of sex  fluffcurtsy(no marking issues here) -- and we really lucked out with Bijou's personality.  Can a third be far behind??   :fluff hugs:

Best,  George
