Was it Angels first litter? Have you been breeding long? I think Abby was from a litter of about 7.Alison

One of my friends that breeds Bichons had 11 puppies one litter and then 9 the next litter. But... usually 4 is the average.

Chich had 5 litter mates there were three boys and three girls in the litter. Some dogs I know of have had only 2 babies. Six is a big litter here.

Since they only have 4 sets of mammary glands, and usually only 7 develop, having 11 puppies in one litter means a LOT of work for the HuMom, too!  I can't imagine!

I believe Bluebell's mom had 2 litters of 7 or 8 puppies each. I believe Blue had 4-5 each time. Sophie's litters were 3 and then second litter only 1.
