Suzy, I would print out some pictures to bring with you. I can give you some groomer speak as well if you think that might help, but pictures are one of the best ways to show what you are going for.
That's where I went wrong the first time with Bella. I didn't show them the picture I wanted Bella to resemble. They had lost my contact list and wrote "Bichon-poo" Arrg!

. They must have mistaken Bella for Lilly (her best friend who's a Bichon-poo) because there aren't a lot of Bichons down here.
