Denny has been throwing up. Once last night when I thought it was because he got over-excited when my other son came to visit and meet Denny.

But today it's just been me and Denny, and he has thrown up three times now. It's white, so not bile, and not what he ate.

I have been mixing the food the resuce gave me with ProPlan, and I have been also giving him 1/4 of Cesar wet food - each morning & evening. I don't think he has eaten any of the dry food I put out this morning though.

Is he just adjusting - or do I need to worry?

I'd think maybe he was  getting excited .What about just trying him with the rescue's food until he's settled and then gradually swopping over? May help.Abby had a very sensitive tummy when she was little and would be sick easily.Alison

They only gave me a baggy full, so the first & second day I gave him just their food, and today I mixed it. I don't think he even touched it today, so it's not likely the new dry food.

Unless it's the Cesar? I was hoping that just giving him small amounts would be OK - maybe not?

Cesar is quite rich if its the same as we get here.Try just the dry food? He'll be fine when he settles in and I'll bet he's loving having all your attention and looking after.Alison

It could be your water!  Are you using tap water?  If you are the added chemicals and mineral contents vary from town to town.  He may be reacting to something he hasn't had before.  Buy some distilled water (not spring water) and try using that for him to drink.  I use it anyway just to reduce the chemicals that my girls get.  Oh, and if you mean Little Cesars food it most definitely could be that!  MaryEllen

We use a Brita filter - would that help? I will get some distilled water if that be better?
This is what I mean by Cesar - I gave him the turkey one - just 1/4 of it at each meal.

OK thanks everyone!  Thank You

No more Cesar, distilled (or filtered?) water, add water to his dry kibble. I hope that works!

He threw up again tonight - but as long as all it is, is an upset tummy, it will be OK.

So many what if's...
If he were mine I would not feed him until his tummy settles, then when he starts looking for food I would feed him a small portion of the dry kibble, the brand you plan on feeding him, moistened with a little warm kettle water (water that has already been boiled and mostly cooled).  I know others cook chicken and rice and other things for their pups when they have upset tummies, but I have always been a firm believer that the virus, or the junk, or the what ever has to come out,  vomit and the digestive system needs to rest, and water will surfice for 12-24 hours until the tummy settles. If after the small meals on day 2 the vomiting continues he needs to see a vet.
Two weeks ago Lia chewed and ingested part of a plastic toy, I never thought nothing of it as she is always chewing toys and I often pick up pieces and throw away damaged toys. She started to vomit that night in her crate, in the morning she ate breakfast and  vomit again, her morning poop was filled with little green speaks, on closer examination I realised it was plastic from the toy and when I found the toy I actually saw how much she digested, about the size of a quarter. She had diligently chewed it up into small pieces and swallowed them, so they were small enough to come out the other end.  I believe she was ill from the toxic chemicals in the toy. I did not feed her any food until the next day, just lots water and I watched her for any symptoms and she was fine.
Also to add, I use distilled water in my house, I originally started using it for the  fluff fluff hoping that it would be a deterrent in bladder or kidney stones building up as we used spring water and I noticed spring water used to leave a ring of calcium deposit in the bowl, BUT they don't really like distilled water.  sad I keep the bowl of distilled water by their food in the kitchen, and I also keep a bowl of plain tap water in the bedroom upstairs. Luigi 9 times out of 10 runs upstairs to get water from that bowl, Lia will drink the kitchen water, but drinks more and longer from the upstairs bowl, go figure.  Don't Get It

Lin,Pets at Home do Bad Cuz squeaky toys that are meant for "ferocious chewers".I find that funny as Abby is little, but she's never managed to break them and loves them. They are made of rubber, but not that hard rubber.

I hope Denny is feeling much better today.Alison

Alison, I had to look up what you were talking about and found a few sites that sold good and bad CUZ toys.  We have a few of them and neither dog chews on them, Luigi will sometimes play fetch with one though, but prefers softer tear a part toys too.  sad

How is Denny today?
