I think he looks real cute too, he looks white and soft and cuddly.  But you can now work towards the look you want.

What's funny is my dad said he felt he was big enough to dismantle the kennel on the patio, that he didn't think he would look like food to the hawks or owls.

When I brought him home, my dad says "Um, maybe he's not ready to take the kennel down yet"   Laughing  Their hair sure adds a lot of fluff to them.

A dramatic hair cut can really make a difference in size perception.   nodding

Angel, Keeper of My Soul

I remember the 1st time I had my first bichon, Frizzy cut.  I cried for days. She too, looked like Gizmo.  I thought the groomer we had used for forever with our last dog (a poodle  Doh ) screwed up royal!  When I finally got up the gumption to call her back, thinking I'd give her a piece of my mind, she told me that she had been taught (way back when) that in order for the bichon's hair to come in thicker (given the double coat) that it should be cut short for the 1st groom.  Fortunately for me, she spoke first, tho I wasn't sure I believed her.  Well, lo and behold, the next cut wasn't nearly as short and with each cut afterward, I could see a difference in the texture of her coat.  She ended up having an AMAZING coat.  Even judges at dog shows that we went to watch would comment.  Hopefully that will be the case with Giz, Hollie!

Angel's coat is WAY different than Frizzy's was.  I didn't have to endure the pain of the 1st cut as she was gifted to me at 6mo old.  Her's, though coarse, is not the same and doesn't maintain the "just groomed" look as long either...  I'd love her even if she was hairless/naked regardless!!   Laugh Hysterical
