Many Tears is an amazing rescue in Wales that helps so many of the puppy farm dogs that we sadly get so many  of here.I have been to help there and they work so hard and so selflessly.
Burns make the food lots of us give our Bichons and they have been supporting them with free food.
They have decided to withdraw their support in April.
Please email them to ask them to reconsider. This rescue is finding things hard enough as it is.

email address is - info@burnspet.co.uk

Thanks.Alison

I'm sad to hear this Alison, i have just been looking at the poor dogs on the Many Tears website  Crying and clicked on the link to Burns food. I'm sure they must have had quite a bit of free advertising through the site.

I would think they have had many new customers from the web site.As its a local rescue to them it seems odd they'd stop. It's supposed to be so they can help other rescues, but I suspect its due to cost cutting.Maybe if loads of people contact them it'll worry them about their public profile.Alison

I also sent an email.  Hope that if enough people send emails or call, maybe they will reconsider.  That makes my heart hurt for the poor abandoned animals.  sad

I got a reply saying they were going to give to other charities,  Mellow I replied to them saying wouldnt it be better to give to other charities but to continue with supplying MT in smaller amounts,  nodding than to just stop altogether.  sad

Tina, I also got a reply and answered the same as you.  Hopefully, if they get enough email, they may reconsider.  begging

How sad sad.  Does anyone know how to set up one of those petition-webpage thingy?  You know, where people can "sign" their name (say enter an email address) and the list see will show the number of petitioners, ie. signatures collected.

I looked up Many Tears' website, and found/read this heartwarming"Happy Ending" story about Pearl fluff.

We fostered Pearl in early October as we were reasonably near to the surgery of the Rowe Veterinary Group who were going to check her eyes to see if a cataract operation was possible. Pearl was a sad and rather nervous little girl when she arrived but soon made friends with one of our other Bichons called Daisy (formerly Flannel) whom we had re-homed along with Rosie (formerly Ice ) a few weeks earlier.

We now had 3 Bichons with only 1 good eye between them, (Daisy had sight in 1 eye, and Rosie is blind). Pearl was taken to the Vet (along with Daisy) to be checked to see if an operation could be carried out to give her sight back. It was decided that one eye was suitable for the operation with a reasonable chance of success.

An appointment was made for the operation to be done and this was carried out on 19 October. Pearl remained at the surgery overnight and was brought home later the following day. The following 2 days were critical needing hourly eye drops (day and night) and a further visit to the Vet at the end of the 2 days.

The initial indications were that the operation had been a success but there was still a need for the eye drops to continue every 4 hours.  Further visits to the Vet have been made and the eye drops, although reduced, continue. Pearl is a different little girl now. She is happy and lively and races around with Daisy with whom she is now inseparable.

Eye operations are expensive but the difference they make to the life of the dog is immeasurable. Due to the bond that has developed between Pearl and Daisy we have decided to adopt her and watch her progress in the future. Thank you to everyone that helped to make this little dog’s life so much happier.

The volunteers & foster-families of Many Tears do such a great job.  I really hope they continue to get the support they need from Burns Nutrition.  I'll nodding email the latter.

I got the same sort of reply.I've emailed asking them to reconsider.I've seen 1st hand this is an amazing rescue.
If anyone knows how to set up a ptition I'll sign.I'll try and find out how tomorrow if I can.
They aren't like the RSPCA where they do what they can. They will give up sleep and their whole lives to help an animal in need and they need support from anyone who can give it.They are on the brink of closing down and need all we can do.Alison

If you figure it out Del, I will sign it too, and in the mean time I will write an email in the morning as I am a bit knackered at the moment as it has been a long day.
