Thanks so much for being excited for us! I am scared to hope at this point, but I am hoping anyhow! LOL

Here's more about him:

"He is an adorable boy and seems to have all the earmarks of a beloved dog. I think he just got lost and his family couldn't find him. He appears to be house trained, is very well behaved , friendly and  loving, and rides extremely well in the car. He gets along well with other dogs and we had him meet a cat and he seemed more curious than predatory. He is very puppy-like.. curious, short attention span.. but not destructive. He has had a bit of diarrhea but that is common with new dogs who have upheavals , new food, etc. It seems to have settled down. Denny got a haircut today because his belly and butt were matted and we will try to send you photos. I hope they are good. He doesn't seem  to be very photogenic and I was surprised at how cute he was given the original photos I got of him before I met him. As I mentioned , he is more cream than white in colour and has some pink on his nose where  most Bichons have black but he is Bichon in appearance except for the above-mentioned traits.. He acts like a Bichon ( happy and sweet and easy-going) and even does the Bichon wave."

This morning she wrote again:

"Denny  really is a perfect dog. Actually , Toronto Animal Services kindly insisted that we take him because we have recently taken in so many dogs with  costly medical issues that they wanted us to  have an especially  terrific adoptable dog  so that we could  bring in an adoption fee that would not be more than our expenses for a change. He is a  healthy happy boy and a real joy. I am certain that if they had put him in their regular adoptions he would have been snapped up in a heartbeat. Unlike so many rescue dogs, he has no discernible issues, other than  his being a  puppy with more to learn. I can't imagine that you will not like him."

Oh, I can't wait to see pictures!!

I am so very HAPPY for you!  woohoo
He sure does sound like a keeper. I too am waiting to see the pictures!
I think it is wonderful that you found a pup so quickly! I know when I was looking for a rescue there were no Bichons to be found in our area unless they were old or special needs, granted I wanted a healthy younger pup as a playmate for Luigi , not a senior so I researched all the rescues via Petfinder looking from west of the GTA, to north east up to Peterborough and east to Belleville, but nothing ever came available, I suppose too because we weren't a priority, so that fact that you found a match so quickly is WONDERFUL!
Although you will always have a special place in your heart for Buddy, your new little fella will help heal the pain of your loss and bring laughter into your home once more.

Well, since he can do the wave, I think that is all the credentials he needs.  Clap

This is SO true!  It happened for me and that is how I got Mattie.  I didn't feel ready for a puppy just a week after losing my beloved Missy.  I found a breeder with a waiting list for a litter that would be available in about 6 months.  That seemed reasonable as it would be spring and I would find it easier to potty train a puppy outdoors in better weather.  Well, the breeder called me just days after I got on the list.  She had a five month old puppy that was returned that day.  A family had bought the puppy for their elderly mother (who lived alone) and expected it to be a lap dog.  A puppy, for gosh sakes!  What were they thinking?!  Well, they claimed the puppy was untrainable and hyperactive, LOL!  The breeder chose to call me because I had told her I was going to be training my puppy in agility.  She knew I would be going to classes and providing extra exercise for this "special" puppy.  She practically begged me to take her (for half price).   So, I went to see her and felt so bad for this little, incorrigible fluff, that I couldn't say no.  Mattie turned out to be easily trained and such a love!  So, it was meant to be!  So, sometimes fate just steps in (my friend calls these times "God-incidences").  I hope one just like this happens for you!
All my best, MaryEllen

woohoo    fluffsun is just round the corner.... bet you can't wait. swing
Like Alison, I'm wondering thinking what you mean by "two weeks"?
Looking forward to "meeting" Denny fluff.  He sounds like such a cutie.
Then again, all Bichons fluff are (nevermind if they're not 100%-Bichon).

Bichons Rule     Bichons Rule     Bichons Rule     Bichons Rule

I have to say KUDOS rock to Carol too.... she's really doing a goodjob
filling you in about Denny fluff.  Alot of rescue work is 'paperwork' too,
you know, communicating with/emailing prospective adopters etc.

No surprise for my son - I would not do that to him. No, he came to me last week and said he had changed his mind. That he was hurting so much when he said "no more dogs", and now his heart had softened. I didn't start all this until he was comfortable with the idea. Now he is getting excited!

Yes, it is a two weeks trial. We can change our minds though in that two weeks if it turns out to be a bad fit - although I cannot imagine having to give him back after two weeks!  cry1

Carol seems to have cut a few steps of the process out for us, to make this all happen so quickly for us - I feel so very fortunate and definitely a case of fate stepping in!

Yes, Sunday is so close! I was standing in the grocery store, looking at dog food this morning, and it hit me - I am going to be a new dog mommy in just a few days!!! yahoo
